Note 872

In virtue of the strong inter-molecular forces, the living substance should be some sort of  "solid" material. In order to make the concept as lively as possible, the living molecule, standing between the ideal gas and the true crystal -- of course not as a point on a linear scale extending between the two -- cannot only be viewed as to be a solid gel, but also (only entirely formally) as a deliquesced or dissolved, multi-phase, intermixable with itself, gas-molecule, or [the living molecule can be viewed] as an eu-colloidal one-suspension molecule [as the only mega-particle suspended in its aquous support medium], which is not accidentally brought into solution, but growing up phylogenetically embryologically together-at-the-same-time with its system.

Note :  All physical mixing systems and combinational systems  originate  through a succession, such that the one is added to the other, precisely as one also prepares, for instance, a solution [Individual things -- particles -- are added to a medium and then become (still independent) constituents of a system]. The organismic system, on the other hand, always grows as a whole (simultaneously), such as if -- and this is surely not irrelevant -- all were connected with all. This is also supported by the exact  quasi-stoichiometrical relationships.

The living mega-molecule is an individualized seemingly free molecule, which, however, in itself -- it borders everywhere to itself -- as well as to its environment, is completely bound, because thanks to the strongest inter-molecular forces acting between it and system-molecules (even water), it incorporates them into its coherence, i.e. these system-molecules covering it.
