Life is much less characterized by an external type-constancy or constancy of form-as-to-reactivity together with ongoining internal change, than it is [characterized] by a most internal [most intrinsic] essential "non-spatial" constancy together with ability of variation of spatial forms, even in the framework of a whole phylogenetic developmental process.
