Here the concept of "force" should be used only analogously, more strictly, avoided. Its source certainly lies in the deepest recesses of  its  matter, and it identifies itself with the particular nature of that matter. Its cessation connects with the cessation of the material structures "causing" it. In many cases there is also the impression of a sort of antiforce, or less actively expressed, of a  sheering away,  of which one can say that it is, in many respects, characteristic of living substance. For, every "giving way" and every physical reacting renders the object in precisely  this  respect to be a mere physical object, and if so in  every  respect, then to be a complete and only-physical = "dead" object.
